Google Updates its information

By admin |

Google has updated its information on specific subjects. it does get quite techo so I will try to make not tech help here:

Robots.txt file

This is plain text file main use is to keep Googles digital spider (the tools that finds your site) out of certain parts of your website. It talks about the commands in it and how it works.

Cloaking

Simply put this is showing one page for humans, and a different one for the search engine spiders. Normally done with specific software.

If there is one thing Google hates, its this type of high level deception. Used mainly for adult sites.

This is a long active discussion with a lot going on include subjects as no follow links etc

Here is one Nugget:
================

“What’s a preferred domain?

The preferred domain is the one that you would liked used to index your site’s pages (sometimes this is referred to as the canonical domain). Links may point to your site using both the www and non-www versions of the URL (for instance, http://www.example.com and http://example.com). The preferred domain is the version that you want used for your site in the search results”

Take the time to have a look over what is going on:

Hope this helps
